If you know someone who either 1. Used to wait until 9 p.m. on Friday nights (Pacific Time) to call Eastbay or 2. Would fall in line during the wee hours of the morning, just to be the first to get their hands on new Jordan releases, then you know you live in a generation that has been highly influenced by the Air Jordan franchise.
The popularity of Jordans can't be denied. Since 1985, the innovative designs that come out every year capture the masses' attention. Originally only having all-white basketball shoes on the courts, Michael Jordan would later on be known to change that game altogether.
The images above depict an 'all too normal' scene whenever new releases are about to drop. Crowds start forming even a day or two prior. You figure, if you're at the end of that line, chances are you probably won't even get the pair you were there for in the first place (crazy sh*t).
Now, if you're not familiar with Jordan's, know that the pricetags on these bad boys don't come cheap. For new releases, you're looking at about AT LEAST $130-$160ish (Men's). At this pricepoint, it makes it hard to believe that once upon a time, it only cost $65 to get a pair. Michael Jordan made great history with flying on the courts, but his franchise is most definitely here to stay.
Fair question: We all see the success and fortune that Air Jordans have surpassed. What do you think would have happend if Jordan signed with Adidas instead of Nike?
